About the Division
The Division of Community Women’s Health, formed in July 2010, provides ambulatory obstetric and gynecologic services in partnership with four health care systems at 13 health center locations in Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
The division is composed of four physicians, Elizabeth Kelly, MD; Heather Masters, MD; William Moravec, MD; and Rocco Rossi, MD; three certified nurse midwives; and three certified nurse practitioners, and works in collaboration with the physician team of the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology. The combined staff provides all ambulatory obstetric and gynecology services for the Cincinnati Health Department, Healthcare Connection, and WinMed Health Services health systems.
The Division had 13,500 ambulatory office visits in 2014 with 700 infant deliveries. The comprehensive UC Health obstetric practice includes direct referral, consultation, sonography and antenal testing by the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and delivery by all members of the faculty working in the labor and delivery unit.
Our community collaboration is strengthened by our partnership with the UC Health Women’s Community Health Nursing program. The majority of the patients in our program receive subspecialty and inpatient care at UC Health.
The community health center/UC Health collaboration has resulted in low birth weight, cesarean and preterm labor rates below the national average. We are joined in our centers by medical students on various ambulatory rotations and through the Urban Health Project.
The division collaborates with key stakeholders, including the Cincinnati Health Department, The HealthCare Connection, WinMed Health Services, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and Health Care Access Now, to address infant and maternal mortality in Hamilton County.
Obstetrical services are provided at UC Health-University Hospital.
