The fellows rotate one week on and one week off as ‘primary fellow’ in the cath lab.

Fellows attend continuity clinic 2 days every other week. The week-on is when the fellow is not the ‘primary’ fellow in the cath lab. The clinic takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Medical Arts Building.

The cardiovascular diseases division conducts active molecular, translational and clinical research. Ongoing trials involving all aspects of research are currently being conducted at University Hospital. All fellows are expected to active participate these trials.

Fellow participation includes patient evaluation, patient screening, patient enrollment, performance of procedure, patient follow-up, analysis and compilation of data, follow-up of patients, manuscript preparation and presentation of findings at research/clinical meetings.

Interventional fellows are encouraged to initiate their own research trials and are provided with the support of division resources as appropriate.

Fellows are also encouraged to submit interesting cases to the appropriate publication and to submit clinical vignettes abstracts to major meetings.

Interventional cardiology fellows are expected to give one Division Grand Rounds presentation. In addition, each fellow is expected to submit a minimum of one abstract or publication during his fellowship.
