UC Cancer Center

Translational Research

Translational research—combining resources, expertise and techniques at both the laboratory bench research and clinical levels to promote discovery and enhancements in prevention, diagnosis and therapies— is exactly what experts within the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center are doing.

Members of the UC Cancer Center are taking scientific knowledge, discovered in our laboratories and are working to convert it to practical use in patient populations.

Translational researchers within the institute are exploring and developing groundbreaking technologies, including programs, devices and models of study, new diagnostic tools, new targets for therapies and are working daily to improve the standard of care for patients.

Additionally, researchers have access to services and support through the University of Cincinnati’s Center for Clinical and Translational Science and Training (CCTST), the academic home of the UC’s institutional Clinical and Translational Science Award from the National Institutes of Health’s National Center for Advancing Translational Science. The center provides support to investigators on research design and implementation, grants for young investigators preparing for career development awards and other services.
